Shaikh Khidir from Toronto, Canada once gave a very stunning example at the significance of following the methods (sunnah) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He said that sunnah is like medicinal drug. Usually, while we visit the docs for treatment, they write at the prescriptions the drugs we need. We take these prescriptions to pharmacists who then promote the drug treatments to us.
Sometimes these drug treatments are sour and difficult to swallow, however we nevertheless devour them as we recognize that the cure is in them. Similarly, every and every sunnah has physical and non secular remedy for us on this world and inside the hereafter.
